Application Process
Steps:
Step 1: Review the Guidelines
Before beginning your application, review our funding priorities, eligibility requirements, and application resources to ensure your project aligns with the Foundation's mission.
Step 2: Prepare Your Application
Gather the required information and supporting materials, including your project description, budget, timeline, and anticipated outcomes. Don’t forget the signature page!
Step 3: Submit Your Application by November
Applications are submitted through our online grant portal during the designated application period. I want to talk to you about how we do this.
Step 4: Application Review & Selection
The Board of Trustees carefully reviews each eligible application and makes funding decisions based on the Foundation's priorities and available resources. Applicants will be notified once funding decisions have been finalized.
Step 5: Grant Award & Reporting
Organizations receiving funding will receive award information, grant agreements, and reporting expectations. We enjoy learning about the impact of funded projects and encourage grantees to share updates, photos, and success stories throughout the life of their project.
Timeline:
Application Cycle Opens: Fall (Sept 1)
Application Deadline: Nov 1
Reader Review & Board Selection: Nov - Early December
Funding Decisions Announced: Late December
Grant Awards Distributed: Early January
Non-profit recipients required to provide letter acknowledging receipt of funds
Project Reporting: Due April 1
Annual Recipient Reception: Mid April

The Hagan Foundation Application Form
Before You Begin
Thank you for your interest in applying for a Hagan Foundation grant. Before beginning your application, please review our Funding Priorities, Eligibility Requirements, and Application Resources to ensure your project aligns with the Foundation's mission. Applicants should be prepared to complete the online application and upload all required supporting documents before submitting.
After You Submit
Once you have submitted the online application, you will receive a copy of your submission at the email you provided. For your application to be complete, please mail the following:
Eleven (11) copies of the completed application (in the format that was emailed to you) that are stapled and three-hole punched. No paper clips, please!
One (1) copy of your organization's IRS Letter of Determination. Note that public schools are exempt.
Don't forget the required attachments, including the completed budget template, signature page and org leadership information.
Packets MUST be postmarked by November 1st.
